Natalie did all of the painting and artwork in her room.  She used Tatouage which is an easy to apply "rub on" application.  Natalie says she then highlighted the drawings by applying a glaze over the walls which gives them this beautiful authentic aged look.
A television keeps the birds entertained while they are resting in their cages.  Natalie unplugs the TV when the birds are loose in their room.  Notice all of the birds and flowers that accent the room?  She even created the look of water fountains and a cobble stone wall.
A yellow wall and large sunny window make the room extra bright and fun!  Natalie even added flower pots to the window.  Take a look above.  That's a bird climbing Grid from Star Bird, Natalie  stretched the grid across the room like a hammock.  Now the birds can hang from the grid while playing with toys.  It's like a  jungle canopy!
When the birds aren't swinging from their grids they can head over to the park and shoot some hoops!  Natalie attached the basketball hoop to the back of her door, creating another play area within the room.
Rise and Shine!
Natalie designed this bird room for her Eclectus "Marina" and her Military Macaw "Bella".
The sun rises over one of the cages that sits in this colorful room.  Drawings of various species of birds look so real as they sit on branches around the room.  The faux painting creates a beautiful playful environment.

   Members Bird Rooms
The Indoor and Outdoor Aviaries created by members of Macaw Dreams are nothing short of spectacular.  Birds of various species are able to spread their wings and be birds.  They climb, play, swing, chew, some even fly, all in the safety of their aviaries.
Whether playing inside or outside, these birds are enjoying a huge world!  We hope these photos will help inspire you to build or purchase an aviary for your bird.   Expand Your Bird's World!
FLY BACK TO MAIN PAGE
This is the perfect example of how we can take advantage of every inch of our bird's room.  Natalie stretched a rope across the room so her birds can move horizontally in midair.  Also, notice that her toys and swings all move? This keeps her birds active at all times while the swinging mimics the motion of tree limbs, exercising her birds balance and coordination.

" ... their room also provides bonding time. I join them for a movie. We eat together in there. I sit on the floor and read a book while they are playing. It truly allows me to join the flock."

Q. How has the bird room helped you and your flock?

A. "It helps me tremendously for they keep themselves occupied. They don't demand me and my attention. It also keeps them safe versus constantly staying on them in the other rooms of the house."

Q. How much time do your birds spend in their room?

A. "They are not out during the day while I'm at work, but come out as soon as we come home. Then it's playtime. "

Q.What's another advantage of having the bird room?

A. "They can throw their toys around and I don't have to worry about anyone tripping over them. Their mess is also contained to one room as well. It makes life much easier. Also I have the closet set up with everything that is needed with the exception of a sink and their fresh food and water"
